Gradient is very delighted to inform that The Editorial Board of UK based HIFICRITIC -magazine has decided to give the ‘ Audio Excellence ‘ - award to Gradient Helsinki 1.5 speakers. The Helsinki 1.5 speakers were reviewed by Mr. Martin Colloms in HIFICRITIC No 3 issue in 2012.

‘ Several amazing pieces of organ music, live club jazz and female vocals proved to be intoxicating. The sonic imaging placed me in the room where each of the recordings was made, and each projected a different-sized space. Holographic would be the best word to describe this system. The New Gradient Revolution MK IV has enjoyed significant success at TAVES. Thank you for our North American distributor, SimpliFi Audio.  Gradient Revolution MK IV is available for orders already now. The first deliveries will be made at the week starting 17th October.  When compared to the earlier Revolution versions, the MK IV has several mechanical changes: all vertical edges have been rounded, the wood parts are made of highest quality real-wood veneer. Finishes are Ash and black colored Ash accompanied by White, Light Grey, Black and Brown grille cloths.  Gradient Revolution MK IV is available also in semi-active version and with complementary bass modules.

BEST IN SHOW AT THE CAS

Gradient Revolution Active was awarded Best in Show at the California Audio Show by Enjoy the Music.com. Clarke Robinson writes:

‘ Aesthetically, this resulted in my favorite sound that I heard all weekend.’... ‘ The bass in this room was perfect... impactful, but not boomy, and fast. There is a section in "The Real Blues" where Ray Brown plays a fast run down to the low E, slapping the strings all the way. This tight combination of high frequency and low frequency information is a mess unless the bass is lightning quick, and I didn't hear it played better on any system at the show.

You hear the exclamation, "the speakers disappeared" all the time, but when it really happens, it is breathtaking... and my breath was taken by the Revolutions. They projected a sonic hologram... when I closed my eyes I felt I was no longer in a hotel room at all. When it needed to, it placed a solo performer right there in the room with us. For larger-scale recordings, sound seemed to come from well beyond the physical walls. ‘

Stereophiles Stephen Mejias finishesh up his CAS show coverage at SIMPLIFI Audio's Gradient Revolution Active room stating ' This was one of my favorite listening experiences of the California Audio Show.' .....

' While many exhibitors at the California Audio Show struggled with the sound of their rooms, employing careful, creative speaker placement and a variety of room acoustics treatments, SimpliFi Audio’s Tim Ryan seemed happy to ignore the room altogether..... I was surprised to see that Ryan had used NO room treatments whatsoever.'

Gradient has enjoyed significant success at the recent Home Entertainment Show, T.H.E. Show, Newport Beach, California, which took place on 3-5 June. Gradient was exhibited by our US importer SimpliFi Audio. We thank all the visitors and reviewers for the excellent comments and feedback.

‘I carried around an excellent recording I know well (Eargle's recording of Dvorak's New World), which I have listened to on quite a few carefully corrected systems. I have a good idea of what this ought to sound like...Gradient Revolution with extra bass towers: Small room but excellent truth to tonal character, solid precise bass, correct sense of space, good all around. Sounded a lot like an orchestra, to the extent that that can be done in a small room...

Every year the Canadian Magazine Audio gives ‘Best Sound of the SSI Show’ - awards to selected hifi systems at the SSI show. This year the award went to Gradient Revolution Active among few others. The jury consists of six experts, who listen carefully all systems at the show. Last year, 2010, Gradient Helsinki received the ‘Best Sound of the SSI Show’ - award.

Gradient introduces a new SMART BASS product concept together with DSPeaker at SSI Montreal HIFI Show. SMART BASS is a combination of the Gradient’s modular bass modules with a custom Anti-mode from DSPeaker. Also Gradient Helsinki as well as Gradient Revolution speakers will be demonstrated.
